Chiangmai

took the night train from Bangkok to Chiangmai, total trip took 13 hours, booked into the sleeper couch so had a bunkbed to sleep on…

met a pleasant couple from Romania (Spiri & Nicoleta) and their Swiss friend (Brishka) on the train ride and we ended up spending most of yesterday exploring the streets of Chiangmai, looking at temples and eating street food – Chiangmai being the second largest town in Thailand we expected the normal bustle and heavy traffic of Bangkok but were pleasantly surprise just how laid back this town is, with many backpacker hostels, bars and restaurants in the old part of town – by law everything shuts down at midnight

today we plan to rent motorbikes and to go explore some of the temples in the nearby mountain range
